The Epiphone Riviera is a semi-hollow electric guitar built on a design that first appeared in the early 1960s. Layered maple construction across the top, back, and sides gives it a resonant, warm character that works across blues, rock, and indie styles. The Frequensator tailpiece and LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge keep tuning stable through heavy playing, while the cream binding and metal Epiphone “E” pickguard deliver classic aesthetics in Royal Tan.
The neck is mahogany with a rounded C profile and rosewood fingerboard, 628 mm scale with 22 frets and a 43 mm Graph Tech nut. Pickup configuration pairs two Epiphone PRO Mini Humbuckers (neck and bridge) with a Fishman S-Core acoustic pickup, routed through dual volume and tone controls via CTS® potentiometers and a three-way toggle. Nickel vintage Deluxe tuners with press-in bushings handle the mechanical side. The guitar ships with a premium gig bag.
The semi-hollow body resonates sympathetically with acoustic frequencies, allowing cleaner tones at lower volumes and natural breakup when pushed through an amp. Gigging musicians and bedroom producers both benefit from this design: the body doesn’t feed back easily on stage, and the acoustic response makes it rewarding to play unplugged. Robben Ford, Lou Reed, and Nick Valensi of The Strokes have all used Rivieras across different genres, which speaks to its tonal flexibility.
