Epiphone's Futura SG Custom reinterprets Gibson's 1961 solidbody icon for contemporary players–studio engineers, bedroom producers, and touring musicians alike. The double-cutaway mahogany body retains classic SG proportions whilst the glued-in mahogany neck sports a Modern C profile optimised for speed and comfort. Built with stainless steel medium jumbo frets, a compound-radius ebony fingerboard (10–14°), and a bound Kalamazoo headstock, the instrument balances heritage design with modern playability. The Midnight Ember Shift finish employs a colour-shifting chromashift treatment that shifts across stage lighting and camera angles.
Sonically, the guitar is driven by Epiphone's new ProBucker® Ignite humbuckers–one in each position–paired with dual volume and dual tone controls offering push/pull coil-split and phase-switch functionality for expanded tonal range. Hardware consists of a LockTone® Tune-O-Matic® bridge, LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece for sustain and tuning stability, and Posi-Lok® strap buttons. Grover® Rotomatic® locking tuners ensure tuning retention through extended sessions. The scale length measures 628.65 mm across 22 frets.
Single-ply neck binding, Graph Tech® nut, and mother-of-pearl inlays (split-block pattern on fretboard, split-diamond on headstock) contribute premium construction detail. The instrument arrives gig-bag ready, suitable for content creation, live work, and studio tracking where both tonal versatility and visual impact matter.
