The Epiphone Futura Firebird Custom is a solid-body electric shaped by Gibson's original Firebird design philosophy—itself inspired by 1960s automotive styling. This iteration modernises the legendary profile with contemporary appointments: stainless steel medium-jumbo frets across a 628.65 mm scale, a compound-radius ebony fingerboard (10'–14'), and a glued mahogany neck with fast Modern C profile. The sculpted mahogany body sports 7-ply top binding and contoured rear for ergonomics, anchored by a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece for stable intonation and sustain.

Electronics centre on a pair of Epiphone ProBucker™ Ignite humbuckers that deliver articulate, headroom-rich tone suitable for studio tracking and live work. Dual push/pull controls unlock coil-splitting and phase-switching options, expanding the tonal palette from classic rock fundamentals to more experimental voicings. Hardware includes locking Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners and a Graph Tech® nut. The Quicksilver Shift finish uses chromatic colour-shifting technology to shift appearance depending on viewing angle—a visual asset for content creators and touring performers.

The compact, comfortable neck profile and Super 400-style pearloid block inlays reflect premium detail typical of instruments at higher price points.
