Epiphone's Futura Firebird Custom interprets the iconic Gibson Firebird silhouette—originally styled by automotive designer Ray Dietrich in 1963—with contemporary hardware and electronics suited to live performance and studio work. The mahogany body features seven-ply top binding and contoured back, while the glued-in neck carries a Modern C profile and compound-radius fingerboard (10″–14″) with 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets. Two Epiphone ProBucker® Ignite humbuckers deliver articulate tone with coil-splitting and phase-switching options via push/pull volume and tone controls, giving players genuine sonic flexibility beyond the single-voice limitation of budget alternatives.

Construction detail makes the difference here. The bound ebony fingerboard sits atop a mahogany neck with Super 400-style pearloid split-block inlays and 628.65 mm scale length.
