The Epiphone Futura ES-355 is a contemporary take on Gibson's iconic semi-hollow design, reimagined for players who need versatility in tone and appearance. Built around a solid maple centreblock with weight-relief routing, the Futura ES-355 balances the resonance and feedback control of a semi-hollow body with practical playability. The decision to base this on the ES-355's 1958 heritage is significant: it's a platform that's worked across jazz, rock, blues, and contemporary genres for decades, now equipped with modern hardware and pickup technology.

Construction centres on an ES-335 five-ply layered maple and poplar body with multi-ply top and back, paired with a mahogany neck in Modern C profile and an ebony fingerboard. The 628.65 mm scale spans 22 stainless steel medium-jumbo frets over a 10”–14” compound radius, enabling smooth chording and precise bending without fret sprout. Electronics consist of Epiphone's new ProBucker® Ignite humbuckers® and dual push–pull volume and tone controls, unlocking coil–splitting and phase–switching options for expanded tonal range. Hardware includes a LockTone® Tune-O-Matic® bridge, LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece, and Grover® Rotomatic® locking tuners with Graph Tech® nut, all engineered for rock-solid intonation and sustain.

The Chromashift finishes—including this Firestorm Shift variant—provide genuine visual differentiation under stage and screen lighting, appealing to recording musicians and content creators.
