The second-generation EVOLVE 50 G2 pushes maximum SPL to 129 dB while keeping the original's famously quick setup intact. This portable powered column system from Electro-Voice combines a 12-inch subwoofer with an eight-driver column array in a single 1,500 W package, now available in white. The magnet-seated pole and gravity-locked column connect in under a minute without tools, and the entire rig packs into the included padded carrying bag. Wireless control via the QuickSmart App 3.0 runs over extended-range Bluetooth, with QuickSmart Link enabling stereo setups and simultaneous control of multiple systems.

The 12-inch woofer reaches down to 37 Hz (–10 dB), while the eight 3.5-inch neodymium drivers cover 43 Hz to 20 kHz with a 120° horizontal by 40° vertical pattern tilted downward to cover seated and standing listeners evenly. Class-D amplification delivers 1,500 W total system power. Four inputs now include switchable 48 V phantom power, and onboard DSP offers music ducking alongside standard EQ and effects accessible through the colour LCD screen. The subwoofer's laminar flow vent design increases low-frequency efficiency and output, with redesigned top handles simplifying transport.

Frequency response spans 43 Hz to 20 kHz, with usable extension to 37 Hz at the low end. The column's downward tilt and 40° vertical dispersion spread sound from floor to back wall without excessive ceiling splash, while the 120° horizontal pattern covers wide stages and dance floors without narrowing at distance. QuickSmart Link connects stereo pairs with a single cable for shared audio and control signals, reducing setup time for dual-system rigs at weddings, corporate events, and mobile DJ applications.
