The Bit Commander brings four octaves of vintage square wave synth tones to your guitar through a beautifully simple monophonic analog design. This no-nonsense guitar synthesizer lets you add or subtract octaves with ease, creating everything from ripping sub-octave thump to swelling transformer-based octave up sounds, all without the complexity of programming envelopes or oscillators. Your single guitar becomes an army of classic synth voices.
Like all analog octave effects, the Bit Commander works best when you follow some straightforward guidelines. Use your neck pickup and stick to single notes for optimal performance. Tracking is most reliable from the 7th fret upwards across all strings, though lower frets will still work with occasional glitches and stutters - this is simply the nature of analog octave processing, not a flaw.
Lower notes present more of a challenge for the Bit Commander to register, and using bass frequencies or lower keyboard registers will produce unexpected results that range from pleasing to downright wild. Each unit is handmade one at a time in Akron, Ohio, featuring true bypass switching and pure analog circuitry throughout.
