DW's Collectors Series Snare with the patented Zikit System redefines versatility in the studio and on stage. Built from a nine-ply 333 Maple shell in a 14-inch format, this snare delivers the warm, focused punch that maple is known for. What sets it apart is the internal mechanism: two adjustable rings (12-inch and 10-inch) engage via a simple lever adjustment, allowing players to instantly transition between three distinct sonic personalities–without changing drums.

The hardware spec sheet reads like a master class in snare engineering. The MAG throw-off uses magnet-powered engagement for reliable snare-wire control, whilst the 5P butt plate provides five discrete tension settings to dial in everything from crisp sensitivity to locked-down snap. True-Hoops feature fully rounded top edges, which preserve stick integrity and cut through on rimshots. The shell arrives fitted with DW Heads by Remo, making it playable immediately. Finished in satin oil natural, the nine-ply construction yields tonal complexity across dynamic ranges, whether driving a rock beat or accenting a jazz pocket.

This configuration transforms a single drum into a three-voice instrument–perfect for drummers seeking studio efficiency or touring players who value backline minimalism without sonic compromise. The 6.5-inch depth sits in the sweet spot between contemporary depth and classic response, responding equally well to traditional and modern tuning approaches.
