DPA's 4099 CORE+ is a condenser instrument microphone engineered for high sound pressure level capture across live and studio contexts. Built on DPA's reputation for pristine transient reproduction and off-axis rejection, this model combines a compact gooseneck design with the MicroLock® connector system, delivering natural, undistorted sound even when positioned close to loud sources. The kit ships with multiple instrument clips, making it adaptable to saxophone, trumpet, violin, mandolin, and other setups without requiring additional hardware purchases.
The 4099 CORE+ employs MicroLock connectivity and accepts a gooseneck extension measuring 80 mm, allowing flexible mic placement whilst maintaining signal integrity. The kit includes a cold shoe clip with standard 1/4 inch thread for mounting, plus dedicated clips engineered for woodwind and string instruments. Full backwards compatibility with earlier DPA instrument clips and all MicroDot accessories ensures seamless integration into existing rigs. The microphone's exceptional isolation characteristics make it suited for miking individual instruments in dense ensemble settings or controlling bleed in multitrack recording scenarios.
