The DOD Overdrive Preamp 250‐X is the 10th evolution of the legendary OD250, redesigned to deliver maximum tonal versatility while staying true to its iconic roots. Retaining the classic Gain and Level controls, the 250‐X expands its palette with three distinct clipping modes for a wide range of overdrive flavours suited to any style or setting.
The three‐way toggle switch unlocks multiple tonal identities: Silicon delivers symmetrical clipping for the classic 250 sound, Asym produces harmonically rich, asymmetrical drive, and Lift removes diode clipping entirely for clean boosts or gritty op amp‐driven tones. At the heart of the circuit is the vintage‐style LM741 op amp, providing the warmth and responsiveness that defined the original.
Housed in a lightweight aluminium chassis and weighing just 250 g, the 250‐X is built for the road but equally at home in the studio.
