The Dave Smith Instruments Prophet-6 keyboard brings legendary analogue synthesis into the modern era, building upon the revered Sequential Prophet-5 foundation with contemporary enhancements that serious musicians demand. This six-voice powerhouse maintains the authentic voltage-controlled oscillators, filters and amplifiers that made the original iconic, whilst incorporating studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer and MIDI-syncable arpeggiator functionality.

At its core, the Prophet-6 features two newly designed discrete VCOs per voice with continuously variable wave shapes spanning triangle, sawtooth, pulse and square configurations. The oscillator section includes pulse width control, hard sync capabilities where oscillator 1 syncs to oscillator 2, and a triangle sub-octave generator on oscillator 1. Musicians can dial in everything from subtle vintage character to extreme tuning instability using the oscillator slop control, whilst oscillator 2 offers low frequency mode and selectable keyboard tracking.

The instrument's full-sized, semi-weighted four-octave keyboard provides exceptional playability through velocity and aftertouch sensitivity, complemented by backlit pitch and mod wheels for low-light performance situations. The intuitive front panel layout ensures immediate access to all functions, whilst the spring-loaded pitch wheel offers selectable range from 1 to 12 semitones in either direction.
