Cole Clark's Australian Blackwood 12-string dreadnought represents a bold departure from traditional guitar construction, showcasing the finest sustainable Australian tonewoods in a full-body acoustic that rivals the legendary Koa guitars of America. This exceptional instrument features Australian Blackwood throughout the top, back, sides and headstock, paired with a Queensland Maple neck, creating a unique tonal character that varies from dark to light colouring with grain patterns ranging from straight to highly figured.
The guitar's construction sets it apart from mainstream acoustics through Cole Clark's Spanish heel or integral neck design, where the neck extends as one continuous piece all the way to the sound hole. Unlike conventional guitars where the body is assembled first and the neck attached via bolt or dovetail joints, this method bonds the neck directly to the face alongside the sides and back, producing a distinctive sound quality that's unmistakably Cole Clark.
Additional construction innovations include internally carved top and back panels, plus a ridge system for joining sides to the body instead of traditional kerfing. The guitar comes equipped with Cole Clark's patented 3 Way pickup system, Blackbean fretboard with Blackwood bridge, snowflake inlays, and Grover machine heads. Finished in natural satin nitrocellulose with inlaid timber rosette, binding and purfling, it's strung with Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze strings and includes a pick guard in the case.
