Cole Clark's Australian Blackwood series represents a distinctly Australian take on the century-old tradition of all-timber acoustic guitars, showcasing the rich tonal qualities of native Australian Blackwood across the top, back, sides and headstock. This timber, closely related to Hawaiian Koa, offers remarkable versatility with its colour variations from light to dark and grain patterns ranging from straight to highly figured. The guitar features a Queensland Maple neck paired with River She Oak fretboard and bridge, creating a unique combination of sustainable Australian timbers that delivers exceptional resonance and playability.

The construction methodology sets these instruments apart from conventional acoustic guitars through Cole Clark's Spanish heel design, where the neck forms an integral part of the body construction rather than being attached separately. This approach sees the neck glued directly to the soundboard alongside the sides and back, creating a continuous timber connection that extends all the way to the sound hole. The result is a distinctive tonal character that differs markedly from traditional bolt-on or dovetail neck joints found on most mainstream acoustics.
