Boss VO-1 Vocoder - Powerful Vocal Expression for Guitar & Bass in an easy-to-use Pedal

The VO-1 Vocoder breaks new ground as the first stompbox to harness the full expressive power of the human voice for guitarists and bassists. This innovative pedal uses BOSS’ renowned guitar synth technology to create electronic voices, classic talk box sounds, and modern vocal textures that push your playing into uncharted territory. Simply connect a microphone and vocalise as you play – the VO-1 handles pitch control through your fretting while applying your voice’s complex formant characteristics in real time.

Four distinct modes provide incredible versatility for any musical style. Vintage mode recreates the familiar synthesised voice sounds heard on countless pop and electronic records, while Advanced mode uses cutting-edge BOSS technology for unprecedented speech clarity and definition. Talk Box mode gives you those iconic “talking lead guitar” tones without the complexity of traditional talk box rigs, and Choir mode produces rich vocal textures directly from your instrument with no microphone required.

The VO-1 integrates seamlessly into any setup, connecting like any standard effects pedal with the simple addition of a microphone for the first three modes. An onboard effect loop allows easy integration with your existing pedalboard, while the Blend knob lets you mix vocoder and straight tones to taste. Compatible with guitar, bass, or any instrument with a 1/4-inch output, the VO-1 comes backed by BOSS’ comprehensive five-year warranty.
