The guitar world changed forever in 1998 when BOSS released the TU-2 Chromatic Tuner, introducing the revolutionary concept of a tuner built into a pedal format. Before this groundbreaking release, pedal tuners were virtually non-existent, but the TU-2's arrival sparked a phenomenon that swept through the music industry. Today, BOSS tuner pedals remain the go-to choice for professional guitarists worldwide, appearing on pedalboards across stages and studios globally.
The TU-3 Chromatic Tuner represents the next evolution of this legendary pedal, building upon the proven foundation of its predecessor with enhanced features and improved performance. Its 21-segment LED display delivers superior resolution compared to earlier models, whilst the high-brightness display ensures excellent visibility even under harsh outdoor stage lighting conditions. The tuner supports an impressive range of tuning configurations, including flattened tunings and drop tunings specifically designed for extended range guitars and basses.
Professional-grade accuracy sits at the heart of the TU-3, with precision tuning accurate to within one cent and the innovative Accu-Pitch Sign function providing clear visual confirmation when perfect tuning is achieved. The pedal offers both chromatic and dedicated guitar/bass modes, with string-by-string tuning support for 7-string guitars and 6-string basses. Additional functionality includes automatic muting when engaged, Guitar Flat mode supporting drop tunings up to six semitones below standard pitch, and the ability to power up to seven additional BOSS compact effects pedals, all backed by BOSS's comprehensive five-year warranty.
