Boss SL-2 Slicer Guitar Effect Pedal

The SL-2 Slicer brings vibrant rhythmic energy to your music through its innovative sound-chopping technology that creates unique percussive patterns with internal filters and effects. This compact BOSS pedal has evolved from the legacy SL-20 Slicer, offering expanded capabilities in a pedalboard-friendly format. With 88 onboard patterns and access to more via the BOSS Tone Studio app, the SL-2 provides fresh musical power for guitarists, keyboardists, loop performers, DJs, beatmakers and beyond.

Modern DSP technology powers the BOSS Slicer engine to new heights, producing rich, animated sounds through single and dual paths chained with multiple internal effects. Eight pattern types—each featuring 11 variations—provide extensive creative firepower, while the BOSS Tone Studio app allows you to audition and load alternate patterns via USB connection. The efficient interface lets you dial in sophisticated textures quickly using the Attack control to shape waveform edges and the Duty control to adjust waveform length from sharp transients to fuller audio blocks.

The SL-2’s dual outputs and seven different output modes unlock impressive sonic possibilities beyond standard mono setups. You can send direct and effect sounds to separate destinations for recording and performance, or create animated stereo and 3D processing effects. External control options include footswitch connectivity for tempo tapping and momentary effect engagement, expression pedal control for real-time parameter adjustment, and TRS MIDI input for syncing with drum machines, DAWs, or other MIDI clock devices.
