A full-time guitar teacher's frustration with existing picks sparked the creation of what would become thousands of guitarists' favourite thumb pick worldwide. Cole McBride's innovative spring-loaded design emerged after testing hundreds of different guitar picks, leading him to develop the Black Mountain thumb pick that's now stocked in music stores globally.
The patented spring technology behind Black Mountain picks provides a universal fit that adapts to individual thumb sizes, making them exceptionally comfortable for medium to extra large thumbs. For players with smaller thumbs or those preferring a tighter grip, extra tight spring tension variants are available to ensure the perfect fit for every guitarist.
Beyond comfort, the spring mechanism significantly enhances durability by absorbing the shock of playing, resulting in picks that last considerably longer than traditional alternatives. This combination of adaptive fit and shock absorption has established Black Mountain as the go-to choice for serious guitarists seeking both performance and longevity.
