Blackstar St. James Jared James Nichols Signature 50w Head (British Racing Green)

Blues virtuoso Jared James Nichols has pushed his signature sound to new heights with the development of his latest amplifier collaboration. After 14 years as a Blackstar Artist, Nichols has worked closely with the British manufacturer to create his second signature model - the JJN 50 & JJN 212 VOC. This powerful new rig represents the natural progression for an artist whose career has grown from intimate venues to major stages across the globe.

The JJN 50 builds upon the foundation of Blackstar's St. James 50 EL34H, which Nichols has been using live alongside his JJN 20. At its core, the amplifier features a pair of EL34 output valves, renowned for their vocal midrange characteristics and quintessential British tone. Through extensive collaboration, Blackstar has modified the top-end response to allow a broader frequency spectrum, giving Nichols' playing that distinctive percussive snap and note definition he's known for.

The standout feature is the unique BLUES POWER circuit, specifically designed to push the amplifier into rich harmonic overdrive territory. During development at Blackstar's Northampton headquarters, extensive speaker testing led to an innovative pairing - a Celestion G12T-75 in the upper position combined with a lightweight Celestion Zephyr below. This combination maintains portability while providing the punch and presence required for Nichols' commanding stage performances.
