Blackstar St. James 50 EL34 2x12'' Combo (Fawn) 50w

Modern guitarists demand versatility without compromise, and the St. James amplifier series rises to meet this challenge with cutting-edge connectivity options. Featuring USB audio connectivity for professional home recording and XLR D.I. output for live performance, both utilise the built-in reactive load and CabRig DSP speaker simulation technology. This dual approach means you can capture studio-quality recordings at home or perform on silent stages with complete confidence.

At the heart of the St. James sits the revolutionary Zephyr lightweight ferrite speaker, developed through close collaboration with Celestion. This innovative driver accurately reproduces the rich sound and performance characteristics of Celestion’s legendary “Vintage 30” speaker whilst weighing significantly less – all achieved using traditional ferrite magnets rather than neodymium. The cabinet construction utilises Candlenut plywood, chosen specifically for its strength, reduced weight, and superior acoustic properties, resulting in a roadworthy enclosure that sounds exceptional and stands up to touring demands.

The amplifier’s power section represents over three years of intensive research and development, featuring highly efficient, lightweight transformers built around modern SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) technology. This patent-pending transformer design provides all the advantages of SMPS – including reduced weight and universal voltage compatibility – whilst maintaining the authentic sound and response characteristics of traditional iron-core transformers.
