The Blackmagic Video Assist combines four essential video production tools into one compact device, serving as a portable monitor, professional recorder, scope, and camera viewfinder solution. This versatile unit enhances any SDI or HDMI camera with superior recording codecs and a larger display, whilst incorporating four built-in scopes, advanced focus assist features, tally indicators, and built-in 3D LUTs. The 3G models handle formats up to 1080p60, while the 12G HDR variants support up to 2160p60 with brighter touchscreens optimised for HDR digital film production and outdoor shooting conditions.

The 12G HDR models offer Blackmagic RAW recording capabilities from compatible cameras and feature L-Series batteries for extended operational periods. This adaptability makes Video Assist suitable for countless applications - from camera rig integration providing large screen viewfinding with modern codecs and focus assistance, to functioning as an ultra-portable scope for testing broadcast and live production equipment to verify correct video levels and gear functionality.
