The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K represents a breakthrough in customisable cinema camera technology, offering filmmakers unprecedented flexibility to build their ideal camera rig. This high-end digital film camera produces precise skin tones and rich organic colours through its full frame 36 x 24mm 6K sensor with wide dynamic range. The built-in optical low pass filter has been specifically designed to perfectly match the sensor, whilst three models are available with EF, PL or L-Mount options to suit different lens preferences.

The PYXIS 6K PL model features a 6048 x 4032 full frame HDR sensor with dual native ISO capabilities and dual CFexpress media slots housed in a customisable body with flexible mounting options. Its fixed PL mount accommodates high-quality professional cinema lenses, making it ideal for serious film production work. The camera simultaneously records both 12-bit Blackmagic RAW and compact H.264 proxy files, plus includes Ethernet connectivity for seamless media sharing to Blackmagic Cloud.

Built from precision CNC machined aerospace aluminium, the PYXIS’ compact body combines lightweight portability with exceptional strength. Multiple mounting points and accessory side plates allow easy configuration for various camera rigs including cranes, gimbals and drones. Beyond the standard 1/4" and 3/8" thread mounts on the top and bottom, the range of side plates extends mounting capabilities for handles, microphones and SSDs, creating a rugged and reliable camera system tailored to any production requirements.
