Blackmagic Design's MultiView 4 brings broadcast–grade video monitoring into a compact form factor, allowing simultaneous inspection of four independent SDI sources on a single display. Built for live production, post–production, and recording workflows, the unit accepts a mix of SD, HD, and Ultra HD video formats running at different frame rates all at once. Its intelligent signal handling and on–screen metering tools make it essential for engineers who need decisive visual feedback across multiple video feeds without tying up multiple monitors.

The MultiView 4 features four 6G–SDI inputs with auto–detection and full re–synchronisation across standard definition (270Mb), HD (1.5G, 3G), and 6G bitrates. Output options include one HD/Ultra HD SDI loop plus an HDMI Type A connector with EDID support, allowing connection to either conventional 1080p displays or 2160p Ultra HD monitors. Ten–bit 4:2:2 colour sampling at 48kHz audio ensures broadcast compliance, whilst the 10–bit SDI colour precision delivers the fidelity required for colour–critical work. Built–in VU audio meters overlay each view independently, and firmware updates arrive via USB 2.0 or Ethernet without requiring external hardware.

The unit runs at just 16 watts, draws universal mains power (100–240V AC), and restores all settings instantly after power loss. Configuration happens through free MultiView software for Mac and Windows, meaning operators can route and label each source without carrying an external control panel. Its SMPTE compliance across 259M, 292M, 296M, and 425M standards ensures compatibility with professional broadcast infrastructure and camera systems used in both live event and studio environments.
