The X-Live interface card takes the proven X-USB technology to new heights, adding dual SD/SDHC slots for completely independent recording and playback capabilities. Building on the established 32-channel bi-directional audio I/O via USB 2.0, this expansion maintains all the recording, playback and remote DAW operation features through HUI/Mackie Control emulation that X32 users have relied on for years. The dual SD card slots now enable uncompressed WAV file recording and playback of up to 32 channels without requiring a laptop connection.
With up to 64 GB of memory capacity across both SD/SDHC slots, X-Live can capture continuous 32-track sessions lasting 3 hours and 20 minutes. The system operates entirely within the X32 environment, removing external wiring complications and computer dependency issues. Multi-channel recording, virtual sound checks, live backing-track support, and precise marker handling are all managed internally, making it equally suitable for studio recording and live performance applications.
The USB and SD interfaces function simultaneously and independently, allowing flexible workflow options such as SD playback while USB recording to your DAW, or real-time backing track transfer from DAW to SD card with on-the-fly marker placement. Both interfaces can record simultaneously for backup redundancy, and these operations bypass console channels entirely, leaving the X32 free for front-of-house mixing duties.
Complete remote control functionality is available through PC, Android or iPad applications, assignable controls, and compatible hardware surfaces like the Behringer X-Touch. X-Live uses standard uncompressed 32-bit PCM format multi-channel WAV files for optimal compatibility across various SD cards and popular DAW applications including Audacity. Sessions can consist of single or multiple takes with up to 24 hours of continuous recording or playback capacity, and 32-bit WAV export capabilities allow offline backing track preparation away from the X32 mixer.
