Behringer RD9 Analogue Rhythm Designer Drum Machine

The RD-9 brings the legendary sound of the classic TR-909 into the modern era with custom-engineered analogue components that capture every nuance of the original's iconic character. This authentic homage combines carefully developed analogue circuitry with contemporary performance features, giving musicians and producers access to the phenomenal bass drums and sizzling hi-hats that defined an entire generation of electronic music. The result is a full-fledged drum machine that maintains the timeless appeal of its predecessor whilst introducing new possibilities for beat creation.

At its core, the RD-9 features 10 distinct drum voices, each equipped with individual tuning, level, attack and decay controls for precise sound shaping. The 64-step sequencer provides the foundation for complex rhythm programming, enhanced by the wave designer and dual-mode filter that expand creative possibilities. These tools work together to create an analogue beat-making powerhouse that can handle everything from subtle groove variations to house-shaking rhythms.

Built with live performance in mind, the RD-9 includes advanced sequencer modes featuring step repeat, note repeat, real-time triggering and live step-overdubbing capabilities. The autofill feature adds instant variations to patterns, whilst the ability to cue up songs from memory without interrupting playback makes it possible to perform entire sets seamlessly. For purists, authentic and enhanced modes allow users to bypass newer features, ensuring the classic 909 experience remains untouched when desired.
