Behringer 73 Mic Pre w/ MIDAS Transformers (500 Series)

Born from the legendary 1073 preamp that defined the sound of Abbey Road and shaped recordings by Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and Stevie Wonder, the Behringer 73 brings that iconic studio magic into a compact, modern package. This streamlined version of the acclaimed Behringer 1273 was developed alongside one of the original engineers, ensuring the authentic character and sonic excellence of the vintage unit remains intact while meeting today’s production demands.

The 73 maintains the same proven architecture as its larger sibling, making it perfect for pairing with your preferred EQ or compressor, or building an entire rack of matched preamps. Its robust steel chassis provides excellent durability and isolation from neighbouring rack units, while the Class A discrete circuit design ensures pristine signal integrity with minimal coloration.

At the heart of the 73 sits a custom-built Midas transformer handling both input and output stages, preserving signal clarity throughout the entire audio path. The versatile design accommodates microphone, line, and instrument sources, with a stepped rotary gain switch providing precise control up to 80 dB with exceptional low-noise performance. The additional Trim control offers fine-tuned level adjustment to your recording device, giving you complete command over even the most delicate sources.
