The Behringer 2-XM brings legendary polyphonic synthesis within reach, drawing inspiration from the iconic '70s designs that shaped the sounds of Vince Clarke, Jan Hammer, and Vangelis. This classic analogue synthesizer recreates the groundbreaking dual-voice architecture that first introduced true polyphony to the synthesizer world, now enhanced with modern conveniences including MIDI and USB connectivity, stereo output, and comprehensive CV/GATE integration for seamless studio and live performance applications.

At its core, the 2-XM features dual synthesizer modules, each equipped with 2 VCOs, 2 envelope generators, 1 LFO, and 1 multi-mode VCF. These voices can operate independently for genuine two-voice polyphony, be split across the keyboard, or combined in unison mode for rich, layered textures. Each VCO offers extensive sound-shaping capabilities through adjustable frequency, modulation and pulse width controls, with oscillator sync available for creating complex lead tones and intricate harmonic content.

The multi-mode VCFs provide exceptional filtering flexibility, featuring low-pass, high-pass, notch, and band-pass modes alongside traditional frequency, modulation and resonance controls. Four envelope generators with Attack, Decay and Sustain parameters allow precise amplitude and filter shaping, while the VCA switch enables toggling between envelope control and external VCA input. The integrated 2-channel mixer section includes level and pan controls for each module, plus portamento functionality for smooth pitch gliding effects.

Built for both studio integration and live performance, the compact 2-XM easily fits into existing setups and can be transferred into standard Eurorack cases.
