The system employs two ADX51 overhead microphones positioned to provide comprehensive coverage - the left overhead captures hi-hat, cymbals, and rack toms, while the right overhead focuses on the floor tom and ride cymbal. This ambient microphone placement creates the spatial foundation for your drum sound, providing natural room tone and cymbal presence.

Essential punch and definition come from the dedicated i5 snare microphone and D6 kick drum microphone, which use close-miking technique to capture the attack and body that overhead mics alone cannot provide. Together, these four microphones create a complete drum mix with the minimum number of channels required.
