The ART Digital MPA-II brings tube warmth into the digital age with its sophisticated dual-format preamp design. Building upon the acclaimed ProMPA foundation, this versatile unit combines classic valve character with modern digital connectivity, making it an essential tool for contemporary recording setups.
Each input channel provides 48V phantom power and features adjustable input impedance, allowing you to dramatically alter the sonic characteristics of premium dynamic and ribbon microphones. The preamp can operate in dual mono or stereo configurations, with specialised mid/side microphone support that sums adjacent channels to decode proper left/right signals for advanced recording techniques.
At the heart of the Digital MPA-II are two carefully selected 12AX7 valves operating at selectable low or high plate voltages, providing extensive tonal variation and performance options. Large backlit analogue VU meters monitor output levels whilst multi-coloured LED arrays offer both average and peak hold functions to display tube gain staging and digital output levels.
Beyond traditional XLR and 1/4" analogue outputs, the unit incorporates a premium A-to-D converter supporting multiple digital formats including S/PDIF, ADAT, and AES/EBU connections, ensuring seamless integration with any professional or project studio setup.
