This versatile mixer combines the acclaimed DuoPre� mic/line pre-amplifiers with a 4-band, 2-sweep EQ borrowed from the GL2400 series, creating a powerful tool suitable for live performance, studio recording, and home production environments.

The mixer features 16 mono channels with Neutrik XLR and 1/4 inch jack inputs, each offering an impressive 69dB gain range through the two-stage DuoPre design. With 6 auxiliary sends, 4 sub groups, and individual 48V phantom power, the ZED-420 provides comprehensive routing options. The USB audio interface adds remarkable flexibility, allowing different signals to be sent to USB from LR or selected aux buses, while the return signal can be routed directly to the LR mix or stereo channel.

Allen & Heath has partnered with Cakewalk to include SONAR LE digital audio workstation software, turning the ZED-420 into a complete recording solution. The USB connectivity eliminates the hassle of dealing with computer soundcard inputs, providing CD-quality audio transfer with simple plug-and-play operation.
