The closed-back design provides optimal isolation from external noise, whilst the dynamic microphone features a flexible arm with shock-mounted transducer that swivels through 270 degrees for both left and right-hand operation. Noiseless microswitches enable automatic microphone muting, and the HSD 271 model includes a convenient headphone auto-mute function for seamless workflow integration.

Practical features include a detachable cable system with mini XLR connector - the same proven design used across AKG's Studio Series headphones. This means that when cables inevitably suffer damage from the rigorous demands of daily broadcast work, replacement is quick and requires no tools whatsoever.
