The amPlug3 Tone Hammer brings Aguilar's revered bass amplifier voicing into a compact headphone practice platform. This all-analog design delivers the warm, dynamic character of the full-sized Tone Hammer head through dual channels: a clean setting that captures the classic voicing, and a drive mode with saturated, tube-inspired overdrive. The unit plugs directly into any bass guitar, eliminating cables and power supplies while maintaining authentic amplifier response and feel through its custom circuitry.
Signal shaping centres on an intuitive Tilt-EQ control that simultaneously adjusts bass and treble frequencies, moving from warm low-end emphasis to focused articulation in a single sweep. The compression circuit draws from Aguilar's TLC Compressor design, offering transparent dynamic control. Three onboard effects include short-room reverb for ambience, chorus inspired by the Chorusaurus pedal, and a built-in drum machine with tap tempo adjustment. A 3.5mm AUX input accepts backing tracks for practice, while TRRS cable support enables direct recording to mobile devices.
