Yamaha's DXS12mk3 is a compact powered subwoofer engineered to deliver genuine low-end grunt without the footprint penalty. Built on the latest generation DXS platform, this 12" design combines proprietary high-durability transducers, redesigned Class-D amplification, and a bandpass enclosure that minimises cabinet resonance. The result is tight, articulate bass that scales from studio monitoring to mid-sized live rigs without bloat or coloration.
The core driver is a 12" cone with 3" voice coil, paired to a newly developed 2500W Class-D amplifier capable of 132 dB SPL maximum output. Built-in D-XSub processing extends frequency response down to 38 Hz, whilst flexible DSP-driven crossover settings accommodate both fixed and cardioid polar patterns for precise stage bass management. The plywood cabinet is internally braced and acoustically optimised; dual M20 and Ø35 mm pole sockets enable flexible rigging, and optional Speaker Wheels and cover are available separately.
Paired with Yamaha's DXR mk3 series tops, the DXS12mk3 forms a coherent full-range system with integrated DSP tuning. Gigging musicians and recording engineers alike benefit from the cardioid mode for controlling stage wash, whilst the low-frequency extension suits bass-heavy genres and demanding dance–music applications.
